Website Templates

• I'm not a photographer, can I still use one of your website designs?
  Yes, any visual references that you can send will help us to understand your ideas better.
• I can't decide between two designs, can I try both during the 10 day trial period?
  Yes. You can take as many Free Trials as you wish.
• How long does it normally take to get a design up and running?
  It depends on how fast you can upload your photos and text and how much custom design you require. It’s possible for you to have your site finished within a few hours. Next, we’ll help you connect your domain name and emails and you can be 100% live within a few days after that.
• Are your websites Mac compatible?
  Yes, our websites and control panel are internet based so everything works equally as well on both Mac’s and PC’s
• How many pages and sub pages am I allowed on my site?
  You can create as many pages and sub pages as your design layout will accommodate.
• If I purchase one of your Classic templates am I able to change the colors?
  It’s not possible to change the background color of the Classic designs by yourself. However, color changes and many other enhancements can be accomplished with custom design time.
• Is it possible to link your designs with my online proofing site?
  Yes, you can link to any website you choose. Links are very basic and simple to create in either your main menu or on your text pages.
• Can I upgrade to an Elite design from a Classic design?
  Yes, as a client you can upgrade from a classic to an Elite for only $200.
• Do you offer a no right click feature to protect my images against downloading?
  You cannot right click and download photos in a Flash website so our Flash designs are naturally protected. Our HTML sites do have a feature that blocks right click downloading of your photos.
• Do you provide .fla files for your websites so that I can make changes?
  We do not supply Flash (.fla) files to our clients. Our websites require highly advanced Flash action script programming and the core structure is not easily modifiable.
• After I purchase a Classic website, can I add extra features in the future like proofing or splash?
  Yes, you can add extra features to your Classic website at anytime.
• Is it possible to add captions to all my photos?
  Yes, all of our websites accommodate photo captions.
• Do your templates support European text accents?
  Yes, our website designs support a wide variety of European characters and accents.
• Do all of your designs have a "sound off" option for viewers?
  Yes, all our websites have music players which allow viewers to turn the music off and adjust the volume.

Content Management

• Can I add images and text myself?
  Yes, you can edit all of your photos and text at anytime. Also edit your website's menu structure, music tracks and much more.
• Now that my site is live, how do I make changes?
  Going live does not affect your ability to edit your website in any way.
• Do you have any FTP capabilities that we can use?
  Yes, there is a File Manager section in your website Control Panel where you can easily upload files to be stored on your server.

Hosting

• What is the hosting price after the first year?
  Our hosting is $100 per year after the first year and it comes with all product updates and full support.
• Do I have to use your hosting or can I purchase a CMD website and continue to use my current host?
  We highly recommend hosting with us for many reasons but, if necessary, your CMD website can be hosted on any server that meets our standard requirements.
• How much does it cost to have a CMD website installed on my own server?
  The cost to transfer your CMD website to another server is a one time fee of $100.
• Could you host an existing HTML site of mine in addition to the Flash site purchased from CMD?
  In most cases this will not be a problem but there may be issues where conflict might arise with the files you want to host on our servers. Each case must be analyzed individually.
• Are email accounts included with your websites?
  Yes, you get up to 100 email accounts that can be accessed from any computer.

Domain name

• I already have a website address. Can I keep it?
  Yes, you can keep your current website address (domain name). You’ll simply need to point your domain name to your new website in order to go live. It’s a very easy and standard procedure.

Pricing

• Will the cost of my website template be charged yearly or is just a onetime setup fee?
  The price of your design, whether $295 or $95, is just a one time setup fee.
• Is there a price break if I purchase two sites?
  Yes, if you purchase multiple sites we offer 25% off each additional website and 50% off of on its yearly hosting fee.
• Is there a discount if I decide to switch designs after the first year?
  Yes, you can switch within your same template class for only $50 or upgrade from a Classic to an Elite Site for $200.

Custom design

• I have a jpg layout of the customization I’d like to achieve with my website. Can I send the layout to you for review and quote?
  With our custom design package you’ll get 5 hours of design for $180. It’s essentially 5 hours for the price of 3.
• What exactly is the Custom Design Package?
  With our custom design package you get 5 design hours for the price of 3 hours ($150).
• Do I have to use all my design time at once?
  You can use your design time all at once or spread it out.
• I’ve chosen one of your websites, but I'd like the images to be larger on the screen. Is this possible?
  Yes, our design team can easily adjust the image sizes of your website.
• Is it possible to have the maximum logo size enlarged?
  Yes, our design team can easily adjust the maximum logo size of your website.
• If I want to customize something small, can I pay just a little extra to do that?
  Yes, we can do small custom design changes. Our minimum billing increment on design time is 30 min.

Proofing

• Do you take a percentage of my online sales through the shopping cart system?
  No, CMD doesn’t take a percentage of your sales. All transactions are completely between you and your client.
• Who fulfils your printing orders with the shopping cart feature?
  You'll receive an email notification when your client orders their photos. You can then forward that email order to any photo lab to fulfil your print order.
• Can the shopping cart process orders in GBP pounds sterling?
  Yes, the shopping cart can process orders in USD, EUR, GBP and AUD.
• Can you confirm whether the proofing cart is a onetime fee and not a yearly renewal?
  Yes, the proofing cart price of $95 is a one time fee. No further payments are required.
• Can you turn off the paypal option and just have all orders emailed?
  Yes, you can turn off the Pay Pal option so your viewers can email their order directly to you.
• Can I create passwords for my proofing galleries?
  Yes, you can add passwords to your individual proofing galleries or you can choose to leave them with no password so anyone can access it.

Blog

• Will my blog have a separate web address?
  No, your blog address will be relative to your website address. (example www.blog.yourwebsite.com)
• Do you host the blogs that come with your websites?
  Yes, we do host the blogs that come with our websites.

Splash page

• What exactly is a splash page and how is that different from the website's homepage?
  A Splash page is a landing page that your visitors see before they get to your website homepage. The splash page offers your viewers multiple options so they can click and be directed from your splash page to your Flash site, HTML site, Blog, Proofing or whatever choice you give them.

Video player

• What video size should I upload?
  Our video player displays your videos at 480 x 360.
